This year a total of ten university campuses across the nation will host the campaign
Pink is the international symbol of breast cancer awareness and Pink Polo, presented by ADCB, was created as pioneering sports initiative to raise awareness in the UAE.
Leading up to the family event, Pink Polo will visit universities in a pink Mercedes-Benz car and stage an interactive photo booth where students are encouraged to dress up in polo equipment and share photos via social media, helping friends and family to remember the importance of regular exams and early detection.
This year a total of ten university campuses across the nation will host the campaign. Pink Polo founder, Carrie McNeill said: “The Pink Polo Campus tour is one of our most important campaigns, as it is the youth who are the future. The concept of our tour is to use the sport of Polo to gain attention, and by that provide a different opportunity for education by engaging the students whilst having fun. Last year our tour resulted in a large number of students also attending the Pink Polo day so it is great to see the students’ passion wanting to supporting an important cause and at the same time learn more about polo.
Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology said HCT was again very proud to be supporting the Pink Polo Day initiative. “This year will mark the third year in which the Higher Colleges, through our many campuses, will be strongly supporting this annual breast cancer awareness campaign by encouraging our female students to learn more about the cancer and how early detection and intervention can save lives,” Dr. Kamali said.
