HH Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Godolphin Polo enjoyed their second win in the Emirates Cup on Friday afternoon.
In a closely fought match against Desert Palm the Godolphin quartet maintained the upper hand throughout and at half-time enjoyed a two-goal lead with Desert Palm yet to open their account.
Finding form in the third chukka Desert Palm sent one through the Godolphin posts before quickly following it up with a second goal to level the proceedings.
The fourth chukka hinted at the possibility of an extra chukka as tight defence and solid play on both sides made goals hard to come by.
The day was Godolphin’s though as they broke the deadlock in the closing minutes to secure a 3-2 victory.
Tomorrow Godolphin play Hungary, also unbeaten to date, and Zedan Polo will take on La Campana.
