Pink Polo on nation wide Campus promotion

Pink Polo on nation wide Campus promotion
This year a total of ten university campuses across the nation will host the campaign
Pink is the international symbol of breast cancer awareness and Pink Polo, presented by ADCB, was created as pioneering sports initiative to raise awareness in the UAE.

Leading up to the family event, Pink Polo will visit universities in a pink Mercedes-Benz car and stage an interactive photo booth where students are encouraged to dress up in polo equipment and share photos via social media, helping friends and family to remember the importance of regular exams and early detection.

This year a total of ten university campuses across the nation will host the campaign. Pink Polo founder, Carrie McNeill said: “The Pink Polo Campus tour is one of our most important campaigns, as it is the youth who are the future. The concept of our tour is to use the sport of Polo to gain attention, and by that provide a different opportunity for education by engaging the students whilst having fun. Last year our tour resulted in a large number of students also attending the Pink Polo day so it is great to see the students’ passion wanting to supporting an important cause and at the same time learn more about polo.

Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology said HCT was again very proud to be supporting the Pink Polo Day initiative. “This year will mark the third year in which the Higher Colleges, through our many campuses, will be strongly supporting this annual breast cancer awareness campaign by encouraging our female students to learn more about the cancer and how early detection and intervention can save lives,” Dr. Kamali said.
Students throughout the nation are also invited to volunteer at the Pink Polo family day, which will feature a “Pink Majlis” where guest can meet medical expert and are offered free screening as well as free family activities like falcon shows, camel rides and prizes for best Pink dressed family. The day’s events will center around a polo exhibition match between ADCB Polo Team and St. Regis Polo team.
The Pink Polo family day will take place on 10 November at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club and entrance is free.
The Pink Polo Campus tour is presented by ADCB and supported by Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, American University of Dubai, American University of Sharja, Fishfayce and Emirates Motors Company.

Are you going Pink with us? Pink Polo November 10th!

Pink Polo launches at the HCT's KCWC

A UAE-wide breast cancer awareness campaign, Pink Polo presented by ADCB, launched Tuesday at the Higher Colleges of Technology's Khalifa City Women's College (KCWC). The Pink Polo Campus Tour is a unique way to spread awareness among the UAE's youth.

Starting at the HCT's KCWC, a total of ten university campuses across the nation will host the Pink Polo Campus Tour, including the HCT's Ras Al Khaimah Women's College, Dubai Women's College, Fujairah Women's College, and Al Ain Women's College.

The campaign's traveling display encourages students to pose for Pink Polo-themed photos. They will have the opportunity to pose with a pink Mercedes Benz car, or pink polo equipment (helmet, mallet, etc), for example. Students will then share their photos via social media, thus helping their friends and family to remember the importance of regular exams and early detection.

Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, said HCT was again very proud to be supporting the Pink Polo initiative. "This year will mark the third year in which the Higher Colleges, through our many campuses, will be strongly supporting this annual breast cancer awareness campaign by encouraging our female students to learn more about the cancer and how early detection and intervention can save lives," Dr. Kamali said.

"The Higher Colleges of Technology have always maintained an active involvement in community-focused events, such as this Pink Polo day, and we look forward to once again being actively involved with, and supporting, this worthy cause," he added.

Students throughout the nation are also invited to volunteer at the Pink Polo family day, which will feature breast cancer awareness measures taught in a "Pink Majlis," as well as family-centered activities like a falcon show, camel rides, and prizes for best pink-dressed family. The day's events will center on an exhibition polo match between ADCB Polo Team and St. Regis Polo team. The Pink Polo family day will take place on 10 November at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club. Entrance is free, and the HCT's KCWC and other institutions will organize free transportation for their students to attend.

Dr. Jace Hargis, Director of the HCT's Abu Dhabi/Khalifa City Women's College, said, "Educated young Emirati women, because of their wide influence, are an especially important audience for this campaign. As a college, Wellness is one of our aspirational goals, and we are pleased to be involved in such a worthy endeavor."

Pink Polo founder Carrie McNeill said, "The Pink Polo Campus Tour is one of our campaign's most important elements, as it is the youth who are the future of this country. Last year our tour resulted in a large number of HCT students volunteering at the Pink Polo family day, and it's great to see the young women's passion in supporting such an important cause for their community."

The Pink Polo Campus tour is supported by ADCB, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, American University in Dubai, American University of Sharjah, Fishfayce and Emirates Motors Company.

Coutts Polo at the PalaceCoutts Polo at the Palace
After just three years competing professionally in the UAE, Abu Dhabi Polo has been invited to participate in the prestigious Coutts Polo at the Palace tournament, due to take place November 23-24, 2012. As the first major polo event to be held in the city of Abu Dhabi, the event is understandably significant.

Team captain, Faris Al Yabhouni, expresses the importance of the event. “Coutts Polo at the Palace has chosen the perfect venue,” says Al Yabhouni. “Not only will it become a highlight in the city’s annual events calendar, but it will unite lovers of the sport and strengthen the bond within our community. We are very patriotic and are looking forward to this event attracting new crowds to our great city.”

Formed in 2009, Abu Dhabi Polo was built on passion and determination. The newly formed team stole the limelight from some of the most established names in the UAE polo circle, with astounding performances in 2011 and 2012. The team has competed in many high profile events including Cartier Polo, H.H President of UAE Polo Cup and the UAE Nations Cup. From reaching the semi-finals at the Royal Jet Silver Cup 2011 to a suspenseful triumph at the Threadneedle Dubai Polo Gold Cup 2011, it was clear Abu Dhabi Polo were not a team to dismiss due to their young age. A phenomenal win at the Dubai Polo Silver Cup 2012 cemented their status as a leading UAE-based polo team. Abu Dhabi Polo is determined to continue their unprecedented success and maintain their winning streak for the 2012-2013 polo season.

“We are proud that Coutts chose Abu Dhabi for this year’s event,” Al Yabhouni adds. “It highlights the recent growth of the leisure industry in the city and we owe a big thank you to Emirates Palace and the sponsors for giving us the opportunity to play the sport we love on our home ground.
